ORCO PROPERTY GROUP | Sustainable Development

Sustainable Development

One of Orco’s goals is to ensure sustainable and responsible growth. We are convinced that sustainability is based on strong ethical principles, which provide a framework of values shared by all employees, and which guides our growth. It is also based on a genuine sense of responsibility towards the wider community.

Convinced that an environmentally-friendly approach is an essential element to answer the new expectations of customers, Orco Property Group has already engaged several initiatives:

  • Drafting a " green charter " for all staff
  • The elaboration of measures intended to reduce consumption of water and energy in our buildings
  • Studies of innovative solutions combining the use of several energy sources (geothermal science, wind, solar).

Zlota 44, the first building by architect Mr Daniel Libeskind in Poland is an example of environmentally-friendly architecture consistent with our policy of sustainable development.

Zlota 44 will be delivered in 2010 and will be equipped with technologies that facilitate energy savings in an optimal way so as to reach a reduction of 10 % on total consumption in comparison with similar buildings.

Some innovations integrated into the building include: a system for storing and reusing heat, a system of economic aeration, an improved thick facade which decreases heat loss and general equipment reducing energy consumption.

Orco Property Group / Arboeko, an innovative partnership for a healthy environment. The partnership concluded with Arboeko, one of the largest Czech companies in the production, sale and distribution of trees, in November 2006, demonstrates again the commitment of Orco in the creation of healthy environments. With this partnership, 4488 trees of 36 different sorts will be planted over seven years. These trees will become part of future Orco projects such as the unique housing development in the village of Benice, near Prague.

By setting up new methods of functioning and construction, so as to reduce the impact on the environment, Orco Property Group makes sustainable development one of its principals and priorities.
